La Drutière - General Terms and Conditions for Holiday Rentals
Please find below the General Terms and Conditions, which must be read and understood before booking.
They can also be printed and attached to your Booking Form.
1. The properties known as The Farm and The Gables are available for seasonal letting, subject to confirmation by Steven Lock (co-owner).
2. To reserve the property, the Customer must make the reservation directly via the official website of La Drutière. When booking online, the Customer must tick the box confirming that they have read and accepted these terms and conditions of rental. An initial non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total amount due will be required at the time of booking. Once the online booking has been confirmed, the Customer will receive an email to confirm their booking request and once the deposit has been received, the owners will send confirmation of the booking within 72 hours.
3. The balance of the payment must be paid no later than eight weeks before the start of the rental period. If payment is not received by this date, the owners reserve the right to cancel the booking in writing. Bookings made less than eight weeks before the start of the rental period must be paid in full at the time of booking.
4. A security deposit of £350 (or Euros) is required for the rental period in case of damage to the property or its contents. We require this to be paid two weeks prior to arrival by bank transfer. However, if you wish to pay on arrival, this can be done in CASH. The amount stipulated in this clause does not limit the Client's liability to the owners. The owners will refund the deposit, less any charges, within one week of the end of the rental period.
5. Subject to clauses 2 and 3 above, in the event of cancellation, a refund of monies paid will be made if the Owners are successful in re-letting the property; any costs or losses arising from the cancellation will be deducted from the refundable amount. The Customer is strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation cover) as well as insurance for personal effects, public liability etc., as these are not covered by the owners' insurance.
6. The rental period begins at 4 p.m. on the first day and ends at 10 a.m. on the last day. The owners are not obliged to make the accommodation available before the time indicated and the Customer does not have the right to remain on the premises after the departure time.
7. The maximum number of people that can stay in the properties must not exceed 13, unless prior authorisation has been obtained from the owners.
8. The Client agrees to be a respectful tenant, to take good care of the property and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition (in accordance with departure instructions) at the end of the rental period. Although a final clean is included in the high season rates, the owners reserve the right to withhold up to £300 (or Euros) from the security deposit to cover additional cleaning costs if the accommodation is left in a condition deemed unacceptable.
9. The Customer undertakes not to disturb the inhabitants of neighbouring properties. The Farm is situated in a quiet rural hamlet, and out of respect for the neighbours, no outside music is permitted after midnight and noise must be kept to a minimum after this time.
10. The Customer undertakes to comply with the rules governing the use of the Owners' swimming pool and must accept and sign a pool liability waiver. Flippers and pets are not allowed in the pool to prevent damage to the liner; the owners reserve the right to withdraw access to the pool in the event of non-compliance, without compensation.
11. No object belonging to the owners may be removed from the property without their prior authorisation.
12. The Customer must report to the owners, without delay, any defect in the property or breakdown of equipment, machinery or appliance in the house, garden or swimming pool. Arrangements for repair or replacement will be made as soon as possible.
13. The Owners shall not be liable to the Customer :
- any temporary failure of public services to the property,
- any malfunction of equipment, machines or appliances,
- for any loss, damage or injury caused by adverse weather conditions,
riots, wars, strikes or other circumstances beyond their control,
- for any loss, damage or inconvenience suffered by the Customer if the property is destroyed or seriously damaged
endommagée avant le début de la période de location. Dans un tel cas, les propriétaires s’engagent à
rembourser toutes les sommes versées dans un délai de sept jours après notification au Client.
14. Under no circumstances shall the Owners' liability to the Customer exceed the amount paid for the rental period.
